Band Biography

Klaxton Brown first embarked on their musical voyage of discovery together as a cohesive Band in 2005. But their origin goes back earlier to when the band members grew up listening to a variety of music genres that played an influential role in shaping their paths as musicians and ultimately led them together. Robert L. Bohannon, Jr aka "Bo" a well known Jazz Saxophonist in the Richmond Virginia area and band leader formed Klaxton Brown in August of 2005. He'd learned very early that trying to perform everything heard on radio was not a winning formula. He suggested that Klaxton Brown become a Motown Dance Band. It's working :) I grew up in a musical family. I learned piano at an eary age, began playing clarinet, then sax in elementary school. Klaxton Browns outstanding Female vocalist, Lesley Harris has become a staple in Klaxton Brown, she has a contagious smile and personality that's as beautiful as her voice. My cousin Stanley Jones plays guitar, sings lead and Background vocals.  His soaring guitar solos are reminiscent of Jimi and Eric. You've got to hear it! Klaxton Brown Horns consist of Mike Fields and Reggie McCoy. These two young musicians add a that element that make Klaxton Brown stand out from the rest. Mike sings lead and background vocals as well as play percussion. Ellis Tucker is a Keyboardist and one of three educators in the group. The other two are Lesley and Reggie. Vincent Christian is our drummer that definitely makes an impact with hard driving beats. Melvin Hill is the quite one in the group but keeps it all together on Bass Guitar he sings lead and background vocals. The chemistry of the this band is genuine. The harmonies coupled with a tight rhythm section and horns to boot give Klaxton Brown a signature sound that offers something different and unique to their fans.
